best bank / insurance company there is.

takes a little getting used to not having a physical branch to go in, but their service can't be beat.

+1. Had usaa for 4 years now, and won't ever switch. It's one stop shopping for everything I need, banking, loans, insurance, ect. Love them.

Would not use key bank, took over 3 weeks for them to mail a new debit card after his was stolen.
BECU has been amazing and since the contract has been extended we wont be seeing and problems in the latter years.

+1. It's more likely that you should change gas stations before banks, but I've used BECU for years and it's been good. I also use SECUWA, which has been good, but I think that you have to have a teacher in the family.

+1 on changing gas stations...we use BECU, no issues there. I have a separate company credit card that was ripped off at a gas station.

Been going to the same gas stations for 3 years, never had any problems until 6-7 months ago.

We use Twinstar. Branches in Oly, Lacey, Tum. All the way from Tacoma to Vanvouver.

Been with them for 27 years. Had some one steal my debit # once. I called them they put the money back in my account same day. Awesome service.

Also have car loans through WSECU, they are very good too.

Bumping this up to the top. Looks like the consensus is BECU. That still the case 14+ months later?

Also, anyone have a bank they use for a checking account for their trust? Please advise.

After our experience with an auto loan through BECU, we will never bank with them once paid off. I'm even tempted to refi to get away from them. They constantly harass us for insurance info like we're criminals, even though we've given it to them multiple times. We also got in trouble because we made a payment too early and they considered it a missed payment. Apparently if you pay earlier than 12 days before the due date, they just automatically apply it to the principle. :bonghit: Both of these things honestly wouldn't be a huge deal if we weren't getting some of the worst customer service experiences to go along with it. Fuck BECU.

I've been with Salal CU for 17 years and love them. Smaller bank, but they have great people and you can go to other CUs to withdraw/deposit so it isn't a big deal.

Hmm that's odd I just paid off my truck and have been banking with becu for 10 years. And in the entire 3 year loan on my truck I never got any calls about insurance or anything. They have always been helpful to me and very quick to respond to anything I've ever needed but everyone has their own experiences with companies.

If you need a local branch to work with, BECU is probably the choice (above exception noted), if you're OK with a remote location, USAA FTW. Personally I use FirstTech locally simply because the nearest branch when I worked at MSFT was walking distance and we've never had any problems with them at all. Been with them about 18 years, plus I still have the account with NFCU. As far as USAA goes, we have everything else with them, mortgage, house, car, truck, boat, trailer, dinghy, credit card, through them. Yes, our card's been compromised a couple of times, but they've always caught it with one tiny exception that I caught on the bill (still no idea how those assholes got set up on the account, but it was years and years ago) and we've never lost any money because of it. My wife's bank in SE Asia issued her a card right before she moved here, and it got used while she was on her flight over, she hadn't even authorized it yet. We don't bank with them any more. In fact, it's unlikely I'll ever use a bank again, credit unions are a much better solution overall.

We like WSECU. Have our accounts and auto loan with them, never had any problems.

Been with BECU for 20 years. Love banking with them. Car loan was a breeze, the customer service is great, and locations are convenient.
