...and yet you still stand in line for a straight cut from HD. :wink05:

Probably a good plan.

That was 20 years ago... When I had a ton of time to learn, stable housing, etc. and I cut fine after the first couple boards....

Now, I don't exactly have a garage or really space to deal with that shit, but I'll kinda have to make space, one way or another.... for the WeenieWagun build. Too much to do to farm it out.

I might have one that the neighbor put on the curb... Older and corded, but PM me if interested.

Good luck making a straight cut with a regular circular saw if you don't have experience with one. Remember to cut on the right side of the line too.

20 years ago, with a corded Craftsman saw that I swear weighed 20lbs.

T square and triangle never failed me.... it's how I learned about the kerf.... the hard way...

It's also how I learned that a motherfucking 2"x4" piece of wood isn't actually 2"x4", unless you get the expensive shit..... :cussing:

I think they're down to 1.5"x3.5" now..

They have been 1.5" by 3.5" for at least 40 years.

I was a framer back in the day. "Triangle"? You mean a speed square? Just wait in line at HD, save yourself some grief.

You won't find a true 2x4 unless you talk to Old growth and he cuts you some on his Mill. Making straight cuts on a sheet of OSB with a circular saw?

Yeah, it's possible if you have the skills.

Cheat...use a straight edge guide. Good luck finding a straight piece of lumber for that though.

On a sheet of osb, just throw anouther ontop of it to square it up

It gets better....

The girl working walks up to me and starts crying....

Oh good lord..

She hasn't even started on it because she lost the slip, and was helping other people instead of working on my order.

You would be better off buying the materials, driving to a development, and asking a framer to cut what you got

Did that many times in the name of good will with the neighbors (I was the framer cutting for them, in case that wasn't clear)

Also of note: Hand the guy $20 and he'll probably be offended. Hand the same guy a 30 pack of Miller High Life (>$20) and he'll probably be your new best friend

Yeah, maybe, no. I'll take the twenty dollars; time and saw blades aren't free. Getting multiple hits from a project's neighbors who wanted the 'favor' ("Can you do me a favor, buddy and cut this? (these)) is intrusive and erodes profitability. You are, after all helping them do jobs they could be hiring you to do and keeping you from completing the job your client hired you for.

I'm not your buddy, or your brother, BIL, father, your neighbor or Amish. I'm there trying to earn money and incessant pesterings like this make that more difficult and less profitable.

Still, I am aware of the PR value of doing such things while wearing a beatific smile.

But I always say "Sure! First cut is free."

Grew up working with the old man in the seventies, to very early eighties, working construction for minimum wage. Did all the bitch work, cleaning, framing, nailing, spreading concrete with more cleaning with coupled the occasional up and down the ladder looking for the nonexistent tape measure extension or level adjuster someone left on top of bottom of the building or mixing sawdust and glue filling hammer dents, on studs that'll never see the light of day... By 1980 I'd had my hand in most all commercial and apartment buildings in Smokey Point and houses from Oso to Monroe, it was we're I learned that the was no way in hell that I wanted to do construction for a career, guessing I was too much of a wimp to bust ass in any weather, probably didn't help that I was the bitch boy and told by everyone if I moved any faster I may look like I'm not sleeping on the job..
Construction folks, are a different breed.

WSU beating #15 Oregon until 3 minutes left in the 4th.
Once again, the Cougar's are able to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
It was a great game until then. :cussing: :cussing: :cussing:

On the Cougar's last drive, the two receivers going OB with 2.5 minutes left was a killer.
Free timeouts...
They punt and then Oregon scores quick, but we could have tied it until that pick...
Fuck.

And that running back going out of bounds on a run play with, like, 1:21 left… :doh1:

1) He should have known not to

2) The QB should have told him to stay in bounds in the huddle

3) The coach or coordinator should have told the QB to tell him to stay inbounds

A 3 level failure.

They were all celebrating in their head, before they put the game to bed…

It's been like that for the T-birds since last season.
It's ok, you can say it.

My dog told me to fuck off tonight. Was having a "moment" and needed some k-9 therapy. She completely shunned me, and stood 5" away while I sat down on the floor and waited for her to come to me. She refused, and sat there staring at me like I was wrong.

I stormed out and slammed 2 doors in her face going outside. Perhaps I'm the one acting like a bitch...
