I feed my dogs carrots with their normal food. Then the turds are speckled with orange spots. Our chickens love the carrot tidbits and will peck the turd to shreds to get all the carrot pieces. Then the turd disappears very quickly after its all spread out.

Ok, I understand the carrots, but...

How do you get the dogs to crap only in the chicken coop?

I let the cluckers roam around the yard every few days to keep the bugs & turds under control. :wink05:

FW shooters and victims were teens. The victims are refusing to cooperate, which means they're into shit, which is probably why they got shot.. I'm guessing drug deal gone south.

I wish it was illegal for 17 year olds to walk into a store and buy a handgun like they can get a book out of a library..

Except dog shit doesn't dissolve in days. At best, in a week of heavy rain it might disperse a bit. Dissolve? No. Putting it aside with a stick...interesting concept. Those who believe that dog shit simply dissolves are the ones who are littering the school grounds, parks, and walking trails with dog shit. It dries out in about 4 or 5 days at best. Real nice for others to come along and observe.

I will agree with 2 points; a plastic sack full of dog shit is nothing to leave behind, either. You simply pick it up. Next- water is essential, carry a bottle or two and give your dogs a drink!

How do I know? 2 German Shepherds in my back yard and daily sharing of the walking trails with the lazy folks who let it lie. And yes, I pick it up and take it with me.

Dog shit dissolves within three-five days. How do I know? I had three German Shepherds until last Sept., two until this March, still have one, which is 11,5 y o.
I never said that dog shit should be left on playgrounds, etc. I meant woods and mountains where you can simply ditch the shit and nobody would even see it. Dog’s shit is no different from other animals’ shit and there are piles of it in the woods.
Not to mention humans’ shit.
Carrying a bag of a dog shit in backpack for a day? Hmm... that’s interesting concept.

More likely a challenging concept for you. Double bagging might be one way to reduce the stink. Just as I did not know you were referring only to mountainous terrain and overnight hikers, you did not know I meant people in the city on 30 minute walks- oh wait... yes, you did. My reference to playgrounds and walking trails surely left a clue.

Enough about dog shit- I am not going to do a scientific study to prove my point.

Well, I don’t give a shit, but I do take one from time to time.

Seeing dog shit all over the place is not as amusing as stepping in it.. Especially when it is the neighbor free range dogs shutting by up the road at my place. Fucker tells me his dogs have been here longer than me, so they can free range. B B gun training by me, or shoot and shovel seem to be my only alternatives.

Are you doing anything to get dog poop to dissolve in that amount of time?

You could do like the city of Anchorage. They had workers go through the parks and smear a glob of peanut butter on each pile. Dogs took care of their own messes and owners wised up.

The poop body may appear to be gone, but parasite eggs in the poop stay for years. Lazy scumbags need to be forced to eat the poops when caught.
