I am guessing its a funding issue. I am all for them taking the time to hone their skills and train.
But using a public range to swap stories? Seems a bit unprofessional to me aside from wasting tax dollars. There were National Park Service, Pierce Co Sheriff, along with a few unmarked SUV's in attendance.

I don't know what range you go to, but at my ranges the LEOs will typically rent the range -- they'll pay the club. So if the club is good with that, then I suppose the LEOs can do whatever they want for the day.
But yeah, I agree, as a member it's frustrating when the range that you want to use is occupied, especially be non-members.
Not sure of the arrangements the range may have with the various LE agencies, and as far as I am concerned, I want to support the use of the range. I don't mind foregoing the use of a whole range for one day per week, I just hate to see the time and resources wasted.

Here in Jeff Co., the Sportsman’s Club is the only range available for many miles. SO, PD, Border Patrol, USCG, F&W, etc. all have exclusive access to the range on Monday’s. Have for years. Good for PR and backup against the anti’s.
They may socialize a bit, but opportunities for that are limited.

Upon occasion I work for a contractor who is a pissy little bitch. He LOVES to schedule multiple crews to work within the same tiny workspace on the same days... snapping his fingers and complaining about people wasting his time... but he has no problem with these kinds of arrangements that make working in the same space with other crews a waste of YOUR time.
To wit: Last week I cut a hole in the cabinet for a range hood. I cut access for the ducting through the middle shelf too. I asked him if he wished me to make the final hole through the top of the cabinet and through the ceiling and make a temp patch to keep the heat in until "we" did the duct work....
"Nope, not our problem, there needs to be a vent cut in the roof and after that the appliance guys will make the connection... but I need you to remove the old fan in the middle of the room/ceiling and patch it with drywall"
So I delete the fan and am looking at the duct work that could be used to route the range hood without getting a roofer to cut a new vent. I suggest we make the connection at that point in time since the ceiling is open/ductwork is visible. (mind you this duct and the new range hood duct are towards the eaves on a very low pitched roof - at the peak there isn't even enough room to get up on one's knees to crawl through the attic so it would be very advantageous to perform the work from below before the ceiling is patched.)
" JUKKOU... NO!!!! I SAID: IT'S NOT OUR PROBLEM. THE ROOFER AND APPLIANCE GUYS WILL MAKE THE CONNECTION!!!." Says bitchface contractor.
So I shake my head and get ready to patch the hole in the ceiling... Meanwhile he sprays a fracking gob of spray foam insulation up through the hole I'm getting ready to patch (I don't know what he was plugging up) so in trying to get some backing behind the ceiling patch I then had to contend with a giant ball of uncured foam goo.
Patch gets done and mudded to completion... a week goes by...
"Hey jukk0u" says the PIA contractor, "We need to hook up the ducting for the range hood".
ME:
So I show up today to run a 7" duct, in a space about 10" high, to hook up to ducting that runs through the cabinet. I crawl through the attic and pull insulation away from the area above the cabinet, come down and cut a hole in the ceiling. I go back up and and trim the duct, laying upside down and on my back, reaching as far back as I could reach, since I couldn't fit my body in the cramped space.
I take measurements and go to the store for duct and bends...
I come back to find his painters masking off the cabinets getting ready to sand and prime the cabinets. WTF?
Prissy-pants had a WEEK to do this (or have me do this) before the painter showed up.

I feel your pain.
GC scheduled us to install a bundle of insulated tubing and a bunch of equipment .... the same day they scheduled tile guys to do a floor.
When we asked the GC WTF he was thinking, he said we were running lines through the ceiling, and didn't need to be on the floor.... well... I wasn't issued a hoverboard.. so... we have to use ladders...
This after confirming the night before and driving 6hrs to Spokane.... 3 guys, 2 vehicles... lots of fuel and wasted man hours.... sigh.
Even better was the 'we can't install this here, it's against code' and the 'I don't care, put it there anyway, I'll sign off on it'..... only to be called back 2 weeks later to uninstall it, and relocate it ... not an easy task for equipment with about 30 lines going to it, remote refrigeration, and weighing 600lbs... hahaha... He paid for it though... maybe they'll listen next time..

Goddamn new neighbors --- bought the house two lots over ---- they are having a new roof put on - its taken more than 3 weeks - just realizing that they have been BURNING the tear off!!!! Along with remodel debris! Finally called the fire dept yesterday to make it stop.
Since they were told not to burn anymore, now they are just DUMPING the tear off into a ravine on the side of the yard!!! Fucking lowlifes. Rallying the neighbors to complain to Code Compliance about this.... not sure if its illegal or not, but I know burning it is (Bothell city limits) and something tells me that there are no permits for any of the work being done..... no respectable/reputable contractor would do that within city limits.
Anyone know who else to contact about this? We all thought things had changed for the better when the old owner moved out... looks like things are destined to get worse.....

Under "City services" (on that menu, left column towards the bottom) You can report crimes and concerns. Be concerned about: illegal dumping and building code violations
Better would be to call and get directed to a person so you can impress upon them the urgency of your concerns.
