I have jury duty, or a summons to appear for jury duty, 23 May.

No, it's not fun, yes, it sucks--especially if you're in someplace like the King County Superior Courthouse, with an aged or non-existent cooling system-- but it's one of those things that comes with being a U.S. citizen. Civic duty and all that.

I always watch 1957's "12 Angry Men" the day before I go in for jury duty (I lived for a while in a very small town with a very limited pool of registered voters, and in 2 1/2 years there was called at least 3 times for jury duty). It helps remind me that hey, this sucks but it could be worse.

Was on a jury once. Sucked... King county jurors won't convict even if the defendant straight up does not deny he broke into a house of a single mother and broke shit, because he's a discriminated illegal alien. Kicker was that after the case was over, the prosecutor shared that he was also hopped up on meth while he went on his crazy spree, which put egg on their face.

Had to sit on hold with siriusXM for about an hour to cancel service I never activated. Got asked all my info then put on hold again for even longer. Then asked for the same shit all over again. I tell the guy I just want to cancel it and they give me all these lower offers. I finally got it cancelled with a confirmation email and number. Grrrr damn it's been off for probably four years so receiving a bill for almost $300 a year out of the blue is pretty irritating. Says someone called and activated it. Wasn't me.
