I woke up to find that the leftists spent on the order of $250 MILLION dollars trying to flip the Senate seats for KY, SC, TX, and MT Must hurt to flush all that cash down the toilet for nothing. All states that soundly rejected the Democratic Senate candidates. Cocaine Mitch, Lindsey Graham, John Cornyn, and Steve Daines all returning to the Senate chambers. Looking forward to Cocaine Mitch playing the Grim Reaper to the Dem's socialist ambitions for America. Democrats can kiss their hopes of nuking the Senate filibuster and packing the Supreme Court goodbye for now

Just registered for a USPSA match on PractiScore a few minutes ago for this Saturday. Planning to BBQ a USDA Prime brisket this weekend also on Sunday. Looking forward to a fun & relaxing weekend and tuning out all the election mess.
We've been up in Dallas the last two weekends for family events and really looking forward to a nice weekend at home. The weather in Texas is awesome lately: sunny with highs in the 80's. Perfect Fall weather for some Q.

Brat Good luck at the state match and enjoy the drive down Are you driving through Sandy and Government Camp or across to the Dalles and down south? I used to go down to Albany Rifle & Pistol regularly for their ICORE match back when I lived in Lacey. I'm really new to USPSA though I have shot ICORE and SCSA matches before. Shooting Revolver class and managed a C class in the qualifier on my first match a couple weeks ago. We do have beautiful Winter weather here though on the flip side South Central Texas is for the most part flat as a pancake and the summer weather can best be described as sauna like. Miss the mountains and the Winter snow out west. Enjoy the scenery in Bend this weekend, that's a great town.

If it snows too much in the pass I may have to reroute to get home. But Its shooting....and the match fee/hotel are both payed for. Too Cheap to back out. Then, of course, there the Competitor only Match shirt and 5 guns given out at the prize table. Got a really funny story about 'almost' getting booted out of the Phoenix Hotel in Albany for being mistaken for a homeless vagrant.

Sounds like a great drive WaJim. I've been skiing at Government Camp many times in the Summer for race/gate training. Timberline Lodge is really awesome. Miss that place a lot. If it's snowing that way over the 26, try taking the I-84 East from Portland/I-5 through Hood River to the Dalles. Then you can drive south via 197 and 97 to Bend to avoid snowy roads. Enjoy the scenery, jealous Good luck at the match

The rain made it an easy decision to stay out of the trees and became a good day for a drive.
Went and picked up the engine for the 69 Camaro and the heads/gaskets/cam for the Vega.
1969 SS427 Big block Chevy with 390hp and 470tq. Its a numbers matching all original date code correct, original heads, even down to the original GM waterpump. Its in pristine condition. This will be paired to the original numbers correct 69 Muncie 4spd. A friend of mine has been hoarding it wrapped up under his work bench for years. I finally got him to commit to a deal last year. The goal is to create a COPO car with all the correct parts that would be original to a COPO ordered/built in 1969.
I also dealt him outta a pair of heads he's had for years. Pretty much new Edelbrock Performer RPM aluminum sbc heads for our Vegas new engine. The heads paired up with a big ol fat roller cam should make the Vega pretty fun to drive. Aluminum heads, alum water pump and alum radiator should help keep some weight shaved off.
I also got him to part with another Muncie 4spd just for extras. We also got a pair of old school cursive script finned alum Edelbrock valve covers for the Vega too.
