My landlord came over tonight and together we removed the Whirlpool dishwasher because the drain pump died a few days ago. Based on the age of the dishwasher we decided not to replace the drain pump and just install a new GE. Neither of us have done a job like this so we felt pretty accomplished afterwards. It's always good to know what you can do on your own rather than having to rely on others!

The other shit I'm going for PHD. (toilet, sink, faucet replacement) Come to think of it, next DW will be number 10. Status: GURU.

Truth! Just thinking back at all the home improvement "opportunities" I had in my homes I owned is exhausting. And it's nice to have friends with experience who can supervise and help. Plumbing, flooring, electrical, roofing, framing, tear outs and installs, counters, painting, drywall, appliances...

Shot bogey golf today. That's good for an old guy like me. I used to have a 14 handicap at North Shore golf course in federal Way b.c. (before children) gave up golf while raising kids sans once a year outing.
We joined the local golf club here for 2 months....unlimited golf and driving range for $200 / month (both of us $400) . That's a great deal considering it is $50/18 holes each.
We have been playing 3 times a week, typically 9 holes but today was 18 holes.

Found out today one of our local Class III dealers is hosting a suppressor and machine gun shoot in the Austin area at the end of February. Looking forward to it As a plain old civvy any opportunity to shoot full auto is always a good time. Also thinking of buying a Dead Air Odessa 9mm pistol suppressor so this looks to be a perfect opportunity to demo before buying. https://www.capitolarmory.com/capitol-armory-quiet-in-the-capitol-free-event
