The SAR duty officers are on call over the weekend, not on duty. They used to have staggered shifts. Not anymore.
Anyway, so I will give him crap about it though.

He's a lucky sob... Should probably go buy a lotto ticket or two. I've lost two good friends to repelling accidents and another to BASE jumping... People do weird shit for fun.

Awesome job by all the responders.
My son "boulders". This is going to give me some rough nights, even though he is an adult.

Did you steal his wallet or at least check his pockets for loose change or misc random 22 ammo?
Times are tough now a days.

Good questions.
He hit hard enough that any .22 ammo would have discharged, unless they were Remington duds, and I don't want those anyhow.
I didn't even think about the wallet. Like I said, I learned a lot yesterday, and I will definitely do things differently next time!

There is danger with that sport going up or down, but I've always been told going down is where people sustain the majority of injuries. Glad you were there to help.

Green to green,
Red to red,
All is well,
Go ahead.
When in danger,
Or in doubt,
Run in circles,
Scream and shout.
It was made for boats, but works for everything.

He's alive and recovering, but still going through an awful lot of shit.

The person who fell was Andy Knepshield. He sustained very serious injuries. You can read updates on his condition, and hopefully contribute to what will be significant medical expenses at this site:
http://www.gofundme.com/andykneps. Andy's dad is a Vietnam era Marine, and he and Andy's wife Emily are watching over Andy's medical care every minute. Please give if you can!
