Seriously? At the start of this mess I had about 5,000 rounds of rimfire and was shooting about 300 rounds a week. When that ran out I shot only centerfire for awhile but eventually had to slow down and let me range membership expire due to the cost.
If you're out of ammo it's probably because unlike loser "prepper" types, you enjoy shooting sports and actually frequent a range.
Am I a little upset? Yes, some of my favorite firearms are rimfire. My only hope is that once all the Armslist flipping 8:00am Cabelas losers run out of their mom's money, the 50% increase in .22lr production will cause prices to fall below $20/500.

First , were you shooting guns in the fall of 2008? If not I suppose you could be excused for not buying more ammo.
So when the shelves were empty and there was a nationwide shortage of ammunition and reloading supplies in the winter/spring of 2013, you continued to shoot 300 rounds of 22LR a week for 13 weeks and then switched to centerfire. And it's someone else's fault you're out of ammo?
You are at the far end of the "poor planning" spectrum. Most people didn't buy any, yet you had plenty on hand had you slowed your pace yet insisted on maintaining your "lifestyle" regardless if you could resupply or afford to resupply, and it's "loser prepper type's" fault that you either can't easily find 22LR or aren't willing to pay current market price for .22LR at retail stores.
I'll assume you're spending the exact same amount of money on centerfire ammo since 22LR is unavailable at a price you're willing to pay. Roughly $60 a month for the .22 you would have shot.
Production cost on 22LR is a couple pennies per round less then last years retail, not much mark up on 22LR . I havent heard of any production increase but I havent looked into it a couple months either.

Let me explain my reasoning here. It's a fact that .22lr manufacturers are producing at least 150% of what they were previously (50% more). At the same time, far less .22lr ammo is being shot judging by all the people complaining about not being able to find any and my regular but less frequent trips to the range. At the same time people are price gouging for .22lr, so:
(Increased production) + (Less being shot) + (Gougers (who are not hording it)) = A cr@p load of .22lr is someone's basement
So what I'm saying is I don't really have a problem with the gougers, it's the people hording it (for some future need I assume, "preppers" maybe?) I have the issue with. Being prepared is a great idea. Being prepared with 50,000 rounds of .22lr is probably not, but don't take my word for it, first on Sierra's list of reasons you can't find .22lr is.... hoarders: http://sierrabullets.wordpress.com/2014 ... mmunition/

Sure it is. I blame the "Occupy Cabelas Movement".RENCORP wrote:It is not realistic to blame all of the happenings of the last couple of years on some militant resellers though.

After all this is said, you mean to tell me that is not price gouging and some thoughts of a "market Price"? Well then I got a box of used Tampons I will sell for $50.00 since that is the going market price.

That post appears to be Teflon Post.
Maybe someone should try a little harder and something will finally "stick" there.
