I had a broken car towed/junked several years back and someone bought and fixed it and drove around getting parking and carpool violation tickets in my name. That was fun. I got the dol print me a letter saying I didn't own it at the time and sent copies to the collection agencies and seattle PD. Next time I'm tearing my plates off, I don't care what the guy says.

Nope. So I went to a license place and paid $10 for a new title.
P.S. I sold the truck to an old friend who ended up becoming a piece of shit father and drug addict. So I didn't feel bad one bit.

I had the same thing happen with a Lebaron. They said the woman I sold it to was in jail and couldn't get it. I gave the claim info to a friend so he could buy it for his kid. In Michigan, the plates stay with the car and you transfer them. They were still valid, so the lady drove it until they ran out.
