Oh, I think it just blackened the shirt, nice and evenly.
But the blast was so powerful that it flipped the light switch on. That's impressive.

reminds me of the time I decided to put a lighter to a balloon... and had a fireball in front of me and no eyelashes for several weeks...
luckily I was too shocked to inhale and didn't burn my airway... don't try it at home..

When I was little (think 7-8ish) we had a neighbour who liked to make his own fireworks. I was inside with my mother and brother when we heard (and felt) this HUGE boom! Came outside, debris everywhere, sirens screaming in our direction...Steve had blown the roof right off of his garage. He was a little frazzled but managed to escape with minor cuts and bruises. Best. Fireworks. Ever.

As a stupid kid we made 'fireworks' from chlorine and brake fluid. One day we built a space shuttle model complete with two PVC rocket boosters filled with same. Amazingly it sort of flew, before exploding into flame and starting a decent sized fire. Luckily we had shovels to put out the fire. Sometimes I wonder how I survived childhood!
Happy 4th!
