Early renewal of CPL

So here's my question. I've had my CPL for around 1.5 years and I have the paper one. It's is slowly ripping and such being in my wallet. The new ones are CC sized and laminated (I think). Do I have to pay again the updated one or will they just issue me a new one?

You can fold yours and laminate it. Just make sure all the items are legible.

Fold it in half, take it to kinkos, pay a buck. Many counties are not using the new format until they run out of the old ones.

If I'm not mistaken, you'll get charged the "Replacement Card Fee" of $10.

I renewed mine last year and it was still the large sized paper version. I had them laminate it for me for like $3 or something.

Laminate what's left if it's still legible.

Not every county or city has the newer smaller ones. King and Pierce counties seem to have a huge supply of the older large ones. The ones I've seen from Thurston county in the last year or two have been the smaller ones though.

I was super bummed to get the large un-laminated CPL from King county a couple months ago. Went into the Auburn Police station to renew if that makes a difference. I figured they were all updated but i wish I would have asked. Folded down and laminated the thing barely fits in my wallet.
