Good spot to disappear to for a few days

Sun Jul 20, 2014 7:49 am

So I have had a lot of things going on the last few months in my personal life. I need a spot to take off for a few days and get out into the woods, just the dog and I, escape from everyone and everything and just fucking unwind. I am looking between Vantuky and the south side of St. Helens and Vantuky to the coast. Anyone Got any Suggestions on good areas?

Shit.. there are lots of places towards St Helen, yale lake / swift area has some decent wooded hiking bug out areas. As far as the coast go up to longview, take hwy 4 west and just find a spot, watch for tweekers.

Ya thought about hitting a beach site? There's something in a dog's blood that they naturally love sandy beaches. I kinda think I'm part dog too, for more reasons than that, tho.

Beach is an option too, may use this escape as time to scout out for deer season too.

Yes we know your part dog... we've all seen you dry humping random womens legs :ROFLMAO: :rofl9:

if you're into the beach and you wanna take your dog check out West Port over on the western side of WA. I love it over there.

It may not be within your range, but you could check out Takhlakh Lake in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. It is an amazing place with an awesome view of Mt. Adams. There are tons of trails in the area. One of them leads to an incredible lava flow that you can climb around on and such.

There is also Council Lake nearby that also has a campground and a cool trail up to a bluff from which you can see Mt. Adams, Mt. Rainier, and Mt. St Helens:

i've gone on a trail for a weekend getaway along the highway that leads along the south and east side of mt. st. helens. just do a quick google maps overview and pick a spot to park the truck and hike. be leery of tweekers, though. bring a couple of your "toys."

just continue east along highway 503, go deep into skamania county, waaaaaaaaaaay after swift reservoir, and continue along the highway after the fork that goes toward stevenson.

I've got places around Mt. Stuart that people haven't been to in literally a century.
It's good to have access to the state's archaeological database.
