Re: Easy question RE: Banks

I open carry in both my banks in Lacey (Wells & Chase) with no issue. Wells has a sign that says No: hoodies, baseball caps, and sunglasses. Banks are a private institution just like Micky dees, or Safeway. They can have a no gun policy if they wanted to just like Costco. But there is no law against it. The reason you can't find anything is because laws tell you what you can't do.

I had a teller at my credit union try to tell me it was illegal under federal law, I told her she had no fucking idea what she was talking about. Funny this is she sat at a desk in the lobby area and all the others were behind bullet proof glass. She also told me she was a gun dealer at WaC shows, but then told me she had NO FFL.

I'm at a loss for words. In the past few years that I've become a gun owner/carrier the amount of misinformation that I've run across from people that have been gun owners 10X longer than I, have is AMAZING!
You can't carry in a bank: wrong.
You can't carry on the Capitol grounds: wrong.
You can't carry in a liquor store: wrong.
No gun signs have the force of law: wrong. (I just won't give them my money)
You can't carry in a National Park: wrong. (Just not in the buildings)
You can't carry at my house. Actually you are required to carry at my house

I think that some liquor stores were 21+ by the WSLCB, which would mean you couldn't carry there.

Kids may not come in by themselves. But for example the liqueur store near me, my kids can come in with me as I make a purchase (while I OC) is no issue. The no gun only applies to bars/places that NO one under 21 is allowed.
Once again this shows that there is a lot of mis-information out there.

As far as I recall.

Green signs are the only signs that carry the force of law in WA.

Slightly off topic, but bank related....

Several Bank of America branches in SpoCompton have armed security guards at the entrances (they carry a wheel gun)

Schools, OVER 21 areas (bars, over 21 area bar area of a restaurant), correctional institutes, courts. NOT banks. A bank as a private business can prohibit gun carry, but those "green" signs don't mean didly there.

Wut?

I am referring to the 21+ Green signs... The fuck are you on? There are no official signs for anything else.

That is my point, for the most part only over 21 bars are restricted. I'm not the one that brought up the "green" signs.
