my wife tells me the downstairs bathroom sink has been plugged a couple days and wont drain, so i poured a little drano down the drain and waited. nothing happened so i got the snake out and pulled the P-trap and look down the pipe to see what looked like a hairball and thought this is going to be easy.
WRONG!!!!!
i got a light and saw that the hairball had teeth, a nose and a foot. damn rat crawled through the sewer line and got stuck. lucky for me i could see him. and it wasnt in the sewer line poured into the concrete floor. i had to cut into the wall from the laundry room side and cut the pipe out and redo the whole section. nasty smell when they have been dead a few days.

I feel your pain, I have been dealing with mice for the last 2 months on my house remodel. They are fucking relentless. I love seeing my cats drag them around the yard dead. Worst vermin on the planet.

You obviously have never met a sea-hawks. This flying over grown rats stink and are annoying. They always think they are great but aren't.
Did you have to cut it out? Could you not have shoved a knife down the pipe and take it out in pieces?

he swelled up after he died and was stuck so bad i couldnt get him out even after i cut that section of pipe out ( i tried pushing him out with a broom stick and it still wouldnt move). the bottom was threaded into the sewer line. i had to cut the part that went through the wall into the cabinet under the sink and the vent pipe section out the top. i had to move the clothes washer and a 6 foot long vintage metal cabinet with a heavy cast iron porcelin top to get to the back side area i needed to cut out.

damn.. did not need to see that picture...
I can handle intestines, brain matter, vomit and shit (the real one)..
but rats gives me the creeps... probably coz one bit me when I was a kid... the tail was 12 inches long.. you figure how big the body was...
the front teeth was about half a cm apart (my puncture wounds on my arm)

That about sums it up for me... My version of the pipe would have had a 12ga hole through it though.

Wow.. the only thing keeping him from slithering up and 'over the hump' into your toilet bowl was pure luck.
Other rat 'seal team' members could theoretically come bite your balls clean off!
Or just a big chunk.
Rats are very quick!
You could be watching, and they'll bite your nut quicker than you can move!
Just sayin'...
