Shooter then walked back, picked up the taser and brought it over to the perp and dropped next to him.
All three officers put in their reports that they tried CPR...not on film they didn't.
Shooter stated in his report that the perp took the taser and ran, that's why he shot. He stated that he feared for his life.

So the shooter appears to have used lethal force on a fleeing subject, falsified a police report, and planted evidence.
Backing officers both were present when the taser was moved, and neither rendered the aid they claim to have rendered.
Based on the radio description...which was fairly detailed.

If true...shooter up for murder, falsifying evidence, and filing a false report.
Backing officers...accomplice to falsifying evidence, and both falsified their reports.

Since then I have only seen part of the video...how far are they from the cars...can you even see them in the video?
If not what got them from the cars to the taser location?

I'll watch the video in the morning.

You need to be careful of the media bias. Maybe the reports say they provided first aid. CPR is pointless if someone has a bullet hole in their heart. We also don't know it was the taser that was moved. It is a black object, it could have been the taser cartridge with wires attached. We don't have any close up pictures of the scene and we don't have the police report. I don't trust what the media says until I can see an actual police or prosecutor report/arrest warrant.

Also every copy of the video I have seen has been edited in one or two places.

"Ran because he owed child support." Was that what the shooter said? Just wondering where that info comes from...

Well, I'm assuming that's why he ran, cause he had a warrant for his arrest due to failure to pay child support.

OK watched the video....
They keep saying behind the pawn store, and it is clearly some kind of little park.
I don't think the contact started there. Which leads me to ask...how did they get there? Was there a foot pursuit? Did the officer pull the guy out of his car and walk him over there? Was this a Pervert BJ deal that went wrong?
Context is everything.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fg3GrfR2wiQ
At the very beginning, you hear the officer say something like, "Quit resisting". Which suggests that the officer had been in contact with the guy for longer than we see.
When we actually see something worthwhile on the video, you see Scott leaning away and starting to run, the officer is leaned way forward, as if he was reaching after Scott. The officer then pulls and fires until the target changes shape. The officers shooting technique is is almost picture-perfect Weaver. There appears to be some range time on the officer.
The officer then goes over and cuffs the guy, then walks back and recovers the taser (1:16). He does drop it on the ground by Scott (1:30)...however he recovers it (1:59) and holsters it.
Responding officers do apply aid. The shooter does not...(Nor should he... being the shooter in an officer involved shooting.)

The content of the video is questionable. It's the last half of a violent confrontation.
Was the officer justified? Don't know...the first half of the contact would tell us.
Was this one of those cases of, 'I caught you, now I am going to search you...' "OH NO YOUR NOT!!"BOLT, grab, escape?
Because that is a plausible lead up to this video and would cause a perfectly acceptable response from the officer.

Will the officer go down for murder....I doubt it. There was clearly a confrontation, Scott was clearly resisting, and he clearly tried to flee.
Will the officer go for Aggravated Assault? Probably. At this point, the black community is calling any death that is even remotely connected to the police, murder.

The media portrayal of the situation is GROSSLY misleading.
The media is still saying the NY officers choked a man to death...the video didn't show them doing that.
Someone is pushing for a race war. Black vs Blue.

From what I understand the filmer stopped the video to upload what he'd got so far before he began recording again, in case something happened to his phone.

rough timeline:
pulled over for broken tail light
ran (i think cause of child support warrant)
officer used stun gun, didn't work
scuffle
guy run more
8 shots
dead.

I blame the Family Court for his death.

I think you are right, but I wonder what they hope to gain from such a thing. Both the Media and the current administration seem to be playing their parts toward this end.

Did the suspect present a danger to the officer or any other person.

I doubt it, escaping at a slow jog like that.

The officer should have just tackled his ass.

Would you "just tackle his ass" if you thought he was armed? Keep in mind, the guy was just tased, and he's still vertical, capable of breaking free of the officers grab, and then trying to run away.

There does seem to be some question as to the effectiveness of the taser in this situation as well, that we have not addressed as of yet.

Everyone is armed. Grow some balls if you're going to get paid to get down and dirty.

Shot 8 times in the back running away would be murder if it was you doing the shooting.

as mentioned... everybody is armed... but until they present a weapon or clear threat, you are not authorized to discharge deadly force... not in any situation... unless somebody else is at risk...

the cop got tired of chasing the guy and decided to end it so he can get back to his other stuff... basically he had a very low regard for this person's life and decided to end it...

there was no threat.. even if there was previously leading up to the video the fact is at the time of the shooting there was no threat...

you can't defend this shit.. sorry the ex-cop fucked up and will go to jail(he's in jail as we speak -- no bail) .. I am not a cop basher... got a lot of friends and patients that are cops and they wouldn't defend this shit either...

anybody that does is just making things worse and promoting the us vs them mentality... there is no us or them... we are all civilians subject to the same rules...
