BONNEY LAKE, Wash. -- At least one person was killed in a construction accident at a Highway 410 overpass when a chunk of concrete collapsed onto a roadway below and smashed onto a passing vehicle, killing one person inside.
The incident happened just before 10:30 a.m. where Angeline Road goes underneath SR-410.
Officials say construction crews were installing a sidewalk on the overpass. As they were working on a jersey barrier, it came loose and fell on a pickup truck, according to Bonney Lake police.
Updates to follow as more details become available

Very sad. I live in Bonney Lake, saw the news helicopters flying around. It really makes you think about the timing between life and death.

Happened 10am and they still have not removed the barricade so they can positively ID the driver and if there was any passengers.

contractors discretion, if they feel they can do it without closing they are allowed too.
for instance Narrows need new paint repairs do you shut the bridge down and cause major inconvenience or safety netting, mess and other procedures to prevent flakes falling in to the river and your vehicle.
