The point is the two prevailing arguments against are either suggesting there are few worthwhile candidates,or that there is simply no need to change. I bet if the ante were upped and a WWII hero offered up, there would be much more agreement.

Nope. Not from me.
Personally I think that only dead presidents should be on the bills ...and coins. (but see below)
Pull Hamilton off the 10 (most people just assume that he was a president.), Franklin off the 100 (Yes Franklin is a great man, but he's not a president) and Chase off the 10,000 (moot point on the last... no longer in print)
Pull 1 dollar coins completely. They have never caught on.
Optionally, put only dead presidents on paper currency and rotate every 5 years (Use all the presidents, and rotate each president through each bill before repeating. It would take 200 years to do so), put whatever you want on coins, but the image on coins must rotate every year.
This makes paper and coins collectable, pulling them from circulation.
Another option, though much harder to establish and maintain...
Put Paper on a Gold Standard, and coins on a Silver Standard.
Of course at the moment, this would require stabilizing the Gold and Silver prices, and there would still be wonky Paper to coin conversions.

I don't think I'm ok with Obama on currency.

Once he's dead....no one will care about his politics anymore. And if you use a rotational 5 year plan...it will take like 170 ish years before he shows up.
Rumor has it that Andrew Jackson was an royal PITA...but no one today remembers his politics, his behavior....hell 50% of America probably thinks he is related to Micheal Jackson.

Also, why just those three? Are there no other women in US history worthy of being honored?

Given that the debate is currently centred on replacing Andrew Jackson with a worthy American woman on the $20, I'm opposed just because I happen to be a direct descendant of President Jackson's...plus he nearly beat an attempted assassin, the first Presidential assassination attempt in American history, to death with a hickory cane (thus the nickname "Old Hickory"). The attempted assassin's life (who was armed with two pistols, later inspected and found to be in fully working order) was saved only by Jackson's assistants pulling him off of the would-be assassin.
Pretty badass.
