My phone updated to Android 5.01 (Lollipop) a couple of days ago. Just tried to use the Chrome browser during lunch to read WaGuns (and other sites). The old Chrome browser was nice & friendly, I knew how to use it, and it didn't have any extra crap attached to it. The new Chrome browser is pretty much the opposite of that. It's been AT&T-ified, defaults to Yahoo (which I never use), no longer has tabs, pops up ads both in the center of the screen & at the bottom, something it never did before. I tried to uninstall it to install the "real" Chrome browser, except when I looked in the Google Store, it said the "real" chrome browser was already installed. I guess I'll start using Dolphin instead, because this is now a steaming pile of shit.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. What the hell is a "Rooted" Android anyway?

Android is basically Linux. Root access means you essentially have sysadmin level of control over it. Phones generally do not ship rooted for safety and reliability issues.

Pretty much. I have mine set to only allow certain programs to have Super User (admin) status and am notified whenever anything else asks for that permission. I also have a firewall restricting what can access the internet and what can't. I could also lay down heavy password protection and encryption, but I'm not hardcore enough to care and don't have a legit reason to encrypt or password lock most things.

I mostly like it otherwise, but Chrome is just a piece of shit to use now. It says you can swipe the address bar to switch to another page, but I was only able to get it to work once.
