Was followed home tonight

Sat Apr 18, 2015 9:19 pm

I was coming home from some errands and stopped at a light near my house. When the light turned green, I hit the gas and took off with some "vigor" (I was ready to be home). The guy next to me did too.

We were side by side when we hit the speed limit and I backed off. And he did too. Then he merged over and got behind me. When he followed me into my housing development, I thought it was coincidence. Then he followed me down into cul de sac, which I thought was weird.

I should have made a U turn out of my cul de sac and kept driving around but didn't and pulled into my driveway. Then he followed the cul de sac loop around and left. I think he was looking at me as he left.

I'm just hoping he thought I was an old buddy or something. No idea why he would follow me. I didn't cut him off or anything...while we were sitting at the light, I didn't even really acknowledge him. I did notice he had a pretty cool pickup (red Dakota quad cab with a V8 and a bit of a lift). But I didn't even really acknowledge him.

Now I'm all paranoid. Especially because I can't park my car in the garage. Ugh...

I do have alarm stickers on my windows. And I always keep my outside lights on at night.

Unfortunately, my car is about 6" too long to fit in my garage. I cleaned it all out only to find out my car just wont fit in there. Pissed me off that I spent all that time cleaning for nothing.

Or maybe a 3 way. There was a passenger in the truck too. Might have been a girl or a femmy looking dude with long hair. Was hard to tell in the dark...

What do you have for wheels? Perhaps he was a curious type in regards to your vehicle… I've been following before In certain rigs mostly by innocent rubberneckers but sometimes By people who want to talk gear head.

It's an older BMW X5. It's in nice shape but nothing particularly collectible.

I've talked with people about their cars before too (in fact I chatted with a guy today about his pristine old 300ZX in the grocery store parking lot), but never followed anyone to do so. Let alone following to their home at 9pm.

I'm a paranoid muther fucker. had a similar situation when I was stationed out east.

i called my roommates and they helped out(no I won't openly post what happened).

Don't be afraid to let the bastards follow you in circles(don't do the same circle over and over).

Don't be afraid to call for help.

Get as best of description of both vehicle and persons, including a plate # if possible.

Avoid becoming stationary as much as possible(make a right turn instead of a left of you have to wait at a light that just turned red).

Stay safe.

Again. I'm a paranoid muther fucker best bet is to be out doing parameter checks tonight. Seeing if anything odd is going on in the hood, any vehicles that you ain't seend before, driving by or parking near. People walking around late(if not normal in your neighborhood).

Thank you for your service to our great Country.

I have a good friend of mine he was in the sandbox a few times and whenever we would go somewhere he NEVER took the same route back to his house.................NEVER!!!!!

He had a few other issues as well, he got rear -ended pretty bad on a 2 lane highway as he had stopped cause he noticed a pile of trash on the side of the road that he refused to drive past it after some of the stories he told me I would be skeptical as well.
