The American Revolution starts in a little town called Concord Massachusetts.
What would have happened if these Militia Men had not the courage to stand for what they and we still beleive.
Its a good sunny Sunday to say a prayer and give thanks to those brave men and all the Soldiers that have fought for our Great Nation after them.
Thank You Sirs and Madams
God Bless America.

An entertaining read here, and the link in it to American Rifleman is good too.

Great thread.
Lately I've been thinking more about those times. My ancestors are from the Massachusetts area, going way back to those times. My father has been doing a lot of digging into the family tree lately, and he sends me information regularly about what he has found.
In a couple of months my dad will be moving into a Massachusetts house that was built in 1730 . . . holy hell, that's a lot of history in one house!
But back to the original subject . . . it took great big balls for those colonists to take a stand against mighty England.

I dislike counting the civil war, as there was functioning representative taxation, and the main beef the south had was that they didn't get to spread their economic system into new states. The Colonies had entirely different and more legitimate grievances

Then by that, we could not count, by the actions that our government has currently been choosing to use, as being the same and comparable to histories past, as they are not based upon the same thing.
Freedom, is exactly that my friend, FREEDOM, just because one does not like it, does not mean they should have the right to force their beliefs on another.

I would point out, that echos southern sentiment running up to the Civil War, when what they were after was the "freedom" to own slaves.

They wanted the freedom of not being told by the government what they could and couldn't do....

By forming their own government telling people what they could and couldn't do.

And attempting to break away from a government that told them "what they could and couldn't do".
It's over a different item but the same ideals are there. You don't have to agree with it. "You can't do that because I don't think its right".
Taxation
Slavery
Freedom
Guns
It's all the same. Fought over the government at the time telling the people what they could and couldn't do and the people having enough of their bullshit
