Let me rephrase...@KF7....ever served?

Who the fuck cares? I just read the first amendment again. Doesn't say anything about military service. I quoted Colin Powell on this matter. What the fuck do you have to say to that, or are you going to sit around jacking off to The Star Spangled Banner and engaging in flag worship? If you hate free speech and believe you are more entitled to not get offended at ideas, then you shame your service, the Republic, and are why the military is subordinate to civil authorities. What on earth makes you think military service makes the difference between being able to hold a valid opinion or not? You sound like a liberal going off on hate speech. You want censorship and military worship? Move to North Korea.

The men and women of this country care.
For those who served, that flag doesn't just represent the ideals of this country. It represents the brothers and sisters who fought beside us.
Some of whom, died beside us.
It represents our family by combat.
And the fact you didn't serve, tells me you have no clue how strong, or how meaningful, that bond is.
Sure, we have that retarded bunch over in the corner...... but even they get a pass for the simple fact that they stepped forward and served.

You claim to be a writer. The hallmark of a good writer is to be able to understand a character that the writer is not, and convey those thoughts and feelings to the paper for the reader.
Let me put it in context for you. When we see the flag abused...It's like....
being kicked in the nuts....
seeing a defenseless member of your family being beaten and humiliated....
A bunch of guys calling your grandmother a whore, while tearing her clothes off...
Your sister being gang raped...
someone dousing the family dog in gas and setting it on fire ....
All at once, while you are forced to watch it... with no way to stop it.

That "flag" is a symbol that represents: our brother, our sister, our father, our mother, our spouse, our friends, and our home.
It provides comfort in times of need. It provides courage when things are bleak.
But most of all it provides Hope.
It is the symbol of our salvation from the fucked up, hell, you call a war zone.

Your ignorant tirade, just goes to show that all you really care about is how it affects you.
So...On behalf of Troops everywhere....You're fucking Welcome!
Enjoy your 1st Amendment Freedom to say spiteful things to the very Troops who dared voice their own 1st Amendment views.
"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it - No matter how fucking stupid you sound."

To paraphrase Jeep....
It's a Military thing...You wouldn't understand.

While I disagree with the current administration, disagree with Obama and generally believe we are going in the wrong direction as a country .... I still respect the Office of the President, I still thank those who chose public service as a career, and I NEVER WILL burn a flag. And I don't agree that doing it is a right protected under the first ammendment. I believe it is stomping on the graves of all those who have died for this country and have no issue with throat punching someone who chooses to burn a flag in front of me. And I don't give two shits what Colin Powell said.

No, I asked BK if he was gonna throw his weight around. He did it in a conversation about torture.

No, I said I agreed with what you called torture. It had nothing to do with being a MOD. You are just stuck on stupid.

Actually, I've been talking to a number of vets both peacetime, and combat, and examining the words of a number more, including men like General Powell, and I'm left seeing how fascist states and military dictatorships happen.

Your rant not only presupposes you have the right to speak for all military members, but also that you are entitled to additional consideration and privilege against offense because of your former military service.

What I see is the mindset of somebody easily conditioned, who cannot separate reality from images. It is no difference than watching Muslims get violent and angry over burning a Koran and represents the same basic mindset.

What I see is a very scary and unbalanced line of thought that will become violent when its ideas and symbols are challenged, and who wraps their justification in shallow patriotism and idolatry.

You also refuse to address veterans who think differently than you do. Why do you dodge the question? Is it easier to froth at the mouth and pound your chest while screaming how you are a vet and must be honored, than discuss why men with impeccable military careers disagree with you?

Not true. Hes way more educated and has a much higher IQ than all of us. Just ask him, he'll tell ya. He wrote half an essay once, obviously smarter than all of us.

I was able to figure out the words to the first amendment all by myself!

There are people who don't think 30 round magazines are protected by the 2nd amendment. You should hang out with them, you think alike.

And using a hamster could be a form of sexual satisfaction. Doesn't mean it's acceptable.

Don't like how the USA is handling the situation with Iran? Burn the Iranian flag if you feel so inclined.
Don't like Obama? Stand on the corner with signs trying to impeach him.

You go burn an American flag, you burn your freedom. You get cunt punted.

I dont disagree with that. In fact some of them I dont usually agree with at all. However they aren't always violent and/or angry. You are ALWAYS contrary to be contrary and gain all that attention you starve for by being incredibly condescending.

No, you just burn a colored cloth. The ideals live on and do not require symbols to live. Maybe I should hang a flag off the barrel of my Krag and burn it. I wonder if the republic could survive such an attack?

That makes no sense.

Right here.

Maybe next time you should ask the original fucking question to me if you want a quick response.

I would ask this same question to my great grandfather and grandfather but they both died fighting for that flag. Not to mention all of my friends who passed away and the ones still fighting for that flag. What does that flag mean to you?? To me that flag represents all the hard worker this country has done to keep us free. I'll be damned to let someone disrespect it. If something is offensive to you aren't you going to stand up and fight for what you believe in? That's what I'm doing? Or are you just gonna let them do what they want to do because it's there first amendment right? Your in America if you don't like it get the fuck out!!!

Always is a strong word that leaves no margin for deviation. Might rethink that.
