While I disagree with the current administration, disagree with Obama and generally believe we are going in the wrong direction as a country .... I still respect the Office of the President, I still thank those who chose public service as a career, and I NEVER WILL burn a flag. And I don't agree that doing it is a right protected under the first ammendment. I believe it is stomping on the graves of all those who have died for this country and have no issue with throat punching someone who chooses to burn a flag in front of me. And I don't give two shits what Colin Powell said.

There are people who don't think 30 round magazines are protected by the 2nd amendment. You should hang out with them, you think alike.

How does this make any sense? Guess I'm not enough of a keyboard commando to understand. Im done resposding to you. Enjoy your microwave Salisbury steak and kitt cat. No more attention from me. Hope they give you enough love.

You dislike something and so declare you don't think it merits constitutional protection. Sound familiar?

Also, steak and Caesar salad. Don't have a microwave, don't want one.

I could use smaller words if the phrase "I don't want one" was hard to understand.

Just a helpful hint. Im not a full time camper, so you may already know this. Try running to 6 volts, instead of 2 12's. They run a deeper cycle and hold a charge longer.

Not sure a bullet even at point blank range penetrate a 1/4 ton of chewed bubblegum. Maybe Mythbusters should test it........

I had a guy at one of military vehicle meets swear that a. 380 wouldnt go through jeans, so he wouldn't carry it.

About 5 people jumped up and offered to shoot him in the leg.. (he was wearing jeans)..

Mister Tesla called. He'd like to introduce you to this alternating current concept. It's all the rage these days.

+1 on that!! I think there is a few people on this board that should think about turning there guns on themselves. Please do us all a favor.

Don't even joke around about that shit..

I'm not fucking kidding either... Myself and others Have been to the point where they're just looking for an excuse to take the easy way out.... You got vets on here that are probably suffering in silence and you make statements like that shit? Smarten up...

What do Vets have to do with you killing yourself? I would bend over backwards to stop a vet from taking his or her life. You on the other hand....not so much. Not after reading some of your post.

Your rant not only presupposes you have the right to speak for all military members, but also that you are entitled to additional consideration and privilege against offense because of your former military service.

What I see is the mindset of somebody easily conditioned, who cannot separate reality from images. It is no difference than watching Muslims get violent and angry over burning a Koran and represents the same basic mindset.

What I see is a very scary and unbalanced line of thought that will become violent when its ideas and symbols are challenged, and who wraps their justification in shallow patriotism and idolatry.

You also refuse to address veterans who think differently than you do. Why do you dodge the question? Is it easier to froth at the mouth and pound your chest while screaming how you are a vet and must be honored, than discuss why men with impeccable military careers disagree with you?

That was hardly a rant. It was focused, and ment to educated you. Clearly I failed, or you are to fixeated on your position to consider the view points of others.
In a classic delection of the actual subject of you gaining some insight to the mind of those who served in the military, you turn your argument into foolish personal jibes at what you consider "easily conditioned".
Obviously you have not met me.

What you see as "scary and unbalanced" (another personal jibe) is the type of thought that lead to the creation of the documents that you say you are supporting in your argument.

As to General Powell...you should learn to read subtext...it might make you a worthwhile writer one day.

Allow me to get you started...
For starters...Powell is a gentleman and very skilled in the use of tact...
Few Americans do such things and when they do they are subject to the rightful condemnation of their fellow citizens.

Translation: If you are an American...you don't do this. If you do, then you can expect that other Americans are going to make certain that you understand that this is not acceptable.

If it is a flag they own, I really don't want to amend the Constitution to prosecute someone for foolishly desecrating their own property. We should condemn them and pity them instead.

Translation: Stupid people, doing stupid shit, with something they own...should not be a crime.
We should let them know that this is not accepted behavior, and think of them as idiots instead.

You seem to have an ongoing issue with 'context'. As a writer, I am sure you have a dictionary... Please familiarize yourself with the word.

Powell's whole letter is in response to the idea that flag burning should be a crime. He simply says "no, it should not be a crime."
At no time does he say, or suggest, that someone burning the flag should not, as my Russian friend put it...be subject to a cunt punt.

And using a hamster could be a form of sexual satisfaction. Doesn't mean it's acceptable.

Don't like how the USA is handling the situation with Iran? Burn the Iranian flag if you feel so inclined.
Don't like Obama? Stand on the corner with signs trying to impeach him.

You go burn an American flag, you burn your freedom. You get cunt punted.

No, you just burn a colored cloth. The ideals live on and do not require symbols to live. Maybe I should hang a flag off the barrel of my Krag and burn it. I wonder if the republic could survive such an attack?

The republic would... The question is....

Would you?
