Add to this that you can't reload 22lr. We are a captive market for manufactures.

still the cheapest round to shoot. Nearly every shooter has at least 1, and it is probably the most frequently shot firearm in the collection. It's easy to put 500 rds of .22 down range on any given range day. Newcomers to the sport are often introduced on a .22, and many of us are actively engaged in these efforts. Conversion kits have increased in popularity, as have AR-platform .22 rifles. It's a great round for hunting a variety of game. It's a very fun round to shoot suppressed. There are so many factors fueling the demand for .22 that it's almost impossible to envision a time when the price will have returned to "normal". I hate to say it, but I think 8-10 cents per round is the new "normal", and the old "normal" is now the exception. My guess is that 10 years from now, we'll wish we had bought more when it was 10 cents per round.

It seems hoarders tend to stick to the Seattle area.
I can still get 50 round boxes of lead plinking .22 for $1.50-$2.50 at more than a few places.
CCI Stingers run about $4. I cannot however, find sub-sonic ammo out here to save my life.
The ammo I picked up is old new stock from what seems to be the late 90's.
Shouldn't be a problem shooting it at all.

So I'm out here on the east side for a few weeks, specifically tri cities. Nothing at any of the places I've looked so far.

The Kissass (Kittitas) shop was selling .22LR for $6-10/50 last time I stopped by there. My guess is it wasn't them.

Dude... just trade that .22LR plinking for sub-sonic.
You can pick up for about $5.49 - $9 per 50 depending on what brand. CCI, Gem-Tech and others.

I doesn't matter much to me. I stopped shooting my 22 LR stuff a year ago. It's only for the grandkids now. I could care if they stop producing it I'm not paying these gouging A holes the prices they are asking. Fuck them all.
