Spreading the WAGuns Gospel

So I thought about this thread after a conversation a really nice employee of a local Walmart struck up with me yesterday about guns after seeing my Springfield hat and the fact I was asking if I could have a big piece of blank cardboard that was laying in the gardening section (it's for cutting out silhouette targets. I'm cheap And have children, don't judge me!) Turned out he was a shooter and we had a quick conversation about a new AR build he was working on and the inevitable "latest stupid gun laws" conversation (this time about the green tip ban attempt, since his build was in .300 blk)

It is always great to meet strangers who instantly find common ground with you because of your hobby (obsession?)

I have probably talked about WAGuns 10 or 15 times to different people whom I've had conversations with about firearms since joining the site. People from my work and other Army acquaintances, but also random people who strike up a conversation because they see the flag flying somewhere...

So I wanted the purpose of this thread to be a place for you to let us know how you've spread the WAGuns Gospel lately and maybe for those whom received the Word of WAGuns to drop in and let us know you're here!

WAGuns only, or just Gun gospel?

I'm amazed how many folks i've found out at into shooting sports and have a CPL.

I've sent a couple members over here from other online communities.

I always take small gifts to out my garbage guys on garbage day (instant handwarmers and/or lattes in insulated lidded cups in the winter/spring, popsicles and bottles of water in the late spring/summer/fall) and just had a new guy assigned to my garbage (as opposed to yard waste or recycling) route. I handed him his latte and a package of handwarmers (this was a couple of weeks ago, when it was really cold), shook his hand, thanked him for his service.

I was turning to leave when he yells, "I LIKE YOUR HAT!!". I hadn't even thought about it but had my hair in a (messy, hastily assembled) loose chignon under my Glock Shooting Sports hat. So we started talking about shooting, he asked what I shoot, he talked about what he shoots (he hunts and does target shooting), and it suddenly occurred to me that I have several WaGuns cards in my purse. I asked him to wait a second, ran inside, and ran back out with a WaGuns card.

His name is Mike. Pretty sure it's not the Mike on here. It wasn't until I came back inside that I realised that my robe had fallen open a bit and he probably got more for his time than a WaGuns card, a latte and some handwarmers. Just doing my best to spread the gospel, I suppose. :thumbsup2:

I've also mentioned WaGuns several times in my forum posts on the NSFW site, Lushstories.com, as a great many members are from the UK, Australia or New Zealand and/or are very uneducated in re of firearms.

I was speaking more about WAGuns specifically, but if you don't have one about that then heck yes about firearms ownership and the sport in general!

I have lots of those too, as I'm sure many of you do

If nothing else, she will probably not even have to bring her cans to the curb anymore.
He will come up the driveway to get them now.
I see a new story on Lush coming..." The garbageman"

Robe wasn't entirely fallen open. I wasn't carrying. I just happened to be still in my nightgown and to have my hair tucked under a Glock hat.

My garbage guys always put the recycling/garbage/yard waste cans away, because apparently I'm known on the route as "the popsicle lady". Even last summer, when I was recovering from major reconstructive ankle surgery, I would send one of my sons out with popsicles and bottled water for the guys on the trucks. I don't know if he's "hot", entirely too young for my tastes, and I write FICTION, so it's unlikely that I'd write a story involving any of my garbage guys. Not impossible--all of my stories have major elements of nonfiction in them--but unlikely.

Thanks for your confidence. The thread asked for examples of spreading the WaGuns gospel, I give one, and it instantly turns into what a slut I am. Nice.

God, I love it when you talk dirty to me.

Try to give a nice Canadian girl a story line, and my good intentions have been sullied.

C'mon Jen, I am just jealous.

Group hug with bacon make you feel better ?

+1 Jen, there was no slight intended.
