http://www.wired.com/2015/04/house-pass ... -protests/Hey, let's ignore several dozen privacy and civil rights groups and just pass this sweeping legislation allowing/requiring businesses to share data with the FBI/NSA/etc. Feel safer yet?
Ugh.

"We're from the government, and we're here to help."
I think we just need a giant sinkhole to open up and swallow all of Washington DC. Start over with a clean slate.

Start that sinkhole in Utah where the nsa built a huge data center to store all of our data.....fuck the nsa. I can't believe I worked for those bastards when I was in the chair force. It actually makes me a bit ashamed of my time in service that I spent it working for an agency that violates the constitution on such a large scale.

And now we just hope that Obama vetoes the bill passed overwhelmingly by a GOP house and senate.

That may not be likely, according to the article:
In a surprise move yesterday, the White House also publicly backed PCNA and its Senate counterpart, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act in a statement to press. That’s a reversal of its threat to veto a similar Cybersecurity Information Sharing and Protection Act in 2013 over privacy concerns, a decision that all but killed the earlier attempt at cybersecurity data sharing legislation.

So now that the gov't has wholesale acknowledged the usurpation of the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 10th amendments to the constitution, what are we gonna do about it?

Generally speaking, we're going to do the same thing that allowed those usurpations to happen in the first place -
not a damn thing. Political apathy and ignorance have reached critical mass; the American people's give-a-damn is busted, plain and simple.
What am I going to do about it? Keep doing what I can do - blowing up my Reps' and Senators' phones and email, signing petitions, engaging people in discussion, donating to candidates and causes I support, and casting my ballots. And if the time comes that I have to do "more", I'm ready for that, too.

I'm hopeful. The current college generation is significantly more critical of the establishment; distrustful of government and skeptical of the ruling parties. Whether it'll make a difference, I don't know. We need more people to play the game to make a change and it may take decades, but I'm hopeful.

These are the same people who can't understand why Facebook has privacy settings.
They trust Facebook. Not hopeful.

George Orwell ell short of estimating how sheep like people would become.
Also, no idea how far our governments would go towards total control.
People are one step removed from becoming batteries a la Matrix, right now.
