Right now it's "guy has knife, kill him", "guy has rocks, kill him", "guy is running away, kill him". So that would apply to us too then? Guy comes running at you with a knife, pull out your ASP? Nope, bang bang, repeat. Are you a highly trained police officer with a vest on, Taser, club, radio, and training? Are you trained in hand-to-hand combat? Police officers have specialized training and are given powers beyond a typical citizen. They are placed in an elevated level, and thus have additional requirements. Here is a great article I just stumbled upon that describes exactly what I want: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/05/05/us/po ... .html?_r=0

Most of the officers I know shoot twice per year. A handful of them couldn't run a mile.
A deadly threat is a deadly threat as stated before. I am all for verbal de-escalation techniques, but when a persons life is in danger, I don't care how trained they are or are not. Their life is still in danger.

U.S. police brutality? Fucking please........ I've been and seen a good number of German, Italian, French and Swiss beat the living shit out of people for stupid shit. Learned real quick that even if you didn't think they where talking to you that if you heard HALT, you stopped, dropped and pissed your pants. Toss that cigarette down, and just ignore them, works real well.....but, you can hear pretty damn good between the thumps on the backs of the legs then. Run through the subway late to base with them thinking you didn't pay, linebacker material there, and the concrete wall and floors ain't no astroturf. Train police? One has to wonder how many times an hour your bags can be dumped and searched. Yet, you can sit down with them and swap American cigarettes and shoot the shit through various language barriers with them asking all about my country. Follow the laws/rules, then no problem. Shooting? It would be rather interesting to know the ratio of people running from doing something wrong, and being shot. They didn't play games when I was over there. I'd much rather flip the finger and give a crotch grab to a cop here in the states as opposed to over seas. But you know, cops over here are so bad and trigger happy.........

I've personally worked with German, Swiss, Irish and Dutch police. The Germans don't fuck around. Hell in Germany wanna wave an Isis flag they beat your ass then take you to jail. All the protests from Islamic and Nazi parties alike recently haven't had any major problems because of how the police react. Some of the people on this forum have actually been around the world and have actual life experiences that dictate their opinions and don't just scroll through liveleaks looking for the next conspiracy theory.

Besides you knowing nothing about my life experience and what I do during my free time what does that have to do with police brutality? Live leaks? I had never been to the site before you mentioned it. Germany just had a number of riots over the opening of the new ecb yet somehow those same German police you claim would stop any protests or anyone getting out of hand allowed it to happen. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/03/18/germany-protests_n_6891804.html I'm tired of arguing with people who favor fascism over constitutional republicanism......If you don't believe in our constitution than why live in this country?

http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2015/05/25/baltimore-bloodshed-continues-28-shot-9-dead-over-holiday-weekend/Quote: It’s the deadliest month Baltimore has seen in more than 15 years. More than two dozen shootings over the holiday weekend alone have city police working around the clock. Now, leaders hope community members come forward to help stop the violence.
From West Baltimore, to the East Side, Govans, to Reservoir Hill–a spike in weekend violence is plaguing all parts of the city. Over the Memorial Day Weekend alone– city police report 28 shootings and 9 homicides. Baltimore Police say they responded to 6 shootings on Friday night, 7 on Saturday, 5 on Sunday and 11 by night fall on Monday. One of those include a double shooting in which a 9-year-old boy was found shot in the leg and a man who suffered a grazed wound to his head. Investigators are running down strong leads in many of these shootings and are pleading with witnesses to help.
