My faithless Exploder died a couple days ago and abandoned itself out here in Richland, WA. I'm coming back over to the Tacoma/Puyallup area on Friday, and need a trailer capable of carrying a ~4k pound SUV a couple hundred miles. I have the tow vehicle, a 1-ton diesel pickup, so that's covered, but my little trailer is only single axle and not rated for the weight. I'm set up with both a 5,000 pound rear hitch and a gooseneck, so either option is fine.

Happy to pay a fair rental fee, I just can't stand the thought of giving my $$$ to U-Haul.

Thanks!

Richland to Tacoma is about 210 miles (exact mileage depending on exact locations).

AAA Premier covers up to 200 miles in towing.

You just have to find a member that has a membership willing to meet you where your car is at in Richland and call AAA.

AAA doesn't cover the car... it covers the member. :thumbsup2:

Dumb question: Would it be easier just to have a shop fix it in Richland and Drive back?

Not gonna go the AAA route, that just feels unethical to me.

Catastrophic engine failure, as documented in the pissed off today thread. It's not even remotely worth fixing, and certainly not worth paying somebody else to fix. I just want it home so I can deal with it on my own schedule.

thats a bummer. AAA route is not unethical, IMO. I've used my AAA for others, and vice versa in the past.

Can't do 200 miles though. I just have the basic membership.

Cash for junk car places will pick it up and send you a check for a couple hundred. Might be worth considering if you're not planning to fix it.

I have some parts on it (tires/wheels/lift/etc) that make it worth getting home.

Looks like we have a plan for transport. I'm going to switch vehicles with another co-worker (he has a truck that can tow a car hauler) and use that to drag it home. Problem solved. :thumbsup2:
