Seriously, why did people expect to happen?
Mayweather, in a fight where he had everything to lose and not much to gain, completely changing his style? The style of fighting that has worked to perfection his entire career?
Pacquiao marching headlong into the trap set by Mayweather?
Neither man made a mistake, and when you get guys of that caliber in a ring and neither goofs up, the fights or rather boring…but boxing can be boring if you're just looking for knockout punches and flailing fists.
