Yesterday I went into my local PD to renew my CPL. The clerk told me that it was a good thing I came in early (mine doesn't exprire til July) because the legislature is "upping the fees".
Anyone hear about this?
If true it might be a good idea for everyone who has a CPL and the expiration date is 90 days or less from now to go in and renew if they want to save some $$$$.
Might also be good for all the other licenses one has to renew. With the Legislature now in special session and having to find more money for schools and all their other pet projects you can bet that the CPL fee won't be the only one raised.

I hadn't heard either but thought it worth bringing up. Like I said, with the legislature in special session we all need to hang on to our wallets.
Still a good idea to renew as early as possible. Even if the fee doesn't go up it's one less thing to forget about.

Nah, The explanation is easier than that.
Min. wage increased and will again until its 12 to 15/hr.
You don't actually expect the Gvt. employees to stay at their same wage ...do you?

Unless there's some info to back it up, that lady flat out doesn't know what she's talking about.

Could be but then again, the Legislature IS still in session. Fee increases are a common way to balance the budget.
Anyway, for those that are in the 90 day renewal window, why not get it done and avoid the possibility of an increase. For those who have renewed already or have more time before the window opens up, it won't matter one way or another.
