Just hedging your bets. Most of us get crap for forgetting. This way you can claim you didn't forget, you were just early

On a related note I was having coffee with some fellow workers several years ago. One of the younger members of the group asked what happened if any of us missed our wive's birthday. One older guy merely replied "nothing-----------for a real long time".

It's just best to leave reminders everywhere so you don't forget critical events.

Just a subtle hint so we don't forget....
