To far? or to harsh?

What say you?

Four Ohio high school students could face up to six months in prison for a senior prank that authorities say went too far.

Officials say that the four teens deflated the tires of 24 school buses used by Northwestern Local School District in Springfield by removing the valve stems, forcing the school district to cancel all classes for the day.

They COULD face 6 months time....but they won't get that.
Valve stems are a far cry from slashing though.
Must have made a helluva racket.

Maybe a little harsh, six months in the can won't teach them anything. Make them wash buses all week end for six months or something similar.

I don't understand your poll options.

Is "to far" a description of what the kids did?
Is "to harsh" a description of the punishment?

I think the prank is funny, the punishment is too harsh, and kids will be kids.

Simple. If they are poor white or black, then they are irredeemable thugs who should just be shot or executed in a grisly and public fashion.

If they are middle class or better whites, then they are just good boys.

Throw the book at these horrible criminals! It's the statist way. Alles in ordnung, etc. I bet they smoke marihuana cigarettes and have out of wedlock sex too...

I don't buy the "boys will be boys" argument. I think six months in jail is too much, and they surely won't get that . . . but I do think that they should get a significant punishment. Working it off would be a good option.

Community service for 40 hours working on the buses. My senior class did way worse, it started when a jr. parked her car in the senior lot before we graduated, we(as a class) stacked logs under her car 3-4ft tall, trying to blow up a boulder on campus, bomb canning the entire school and burnt garbage cans during school. Yeah stupid.

6 mos of weekends washing buses and cleaning the inside...

but there has to be threat of jail time for them to comply with the punishment...

kids will be kids is like saying bullies will be bullies and it's ok... there should be punishment for violating the rules..

To far= they should get the 6 months and anything else they got coming.

To harsh= 6 months is bull shit they should be washing busses or picking up trash.

Kids will be kids= punishment equal to crime.

Time to riot= well... I need some new shoes
