Does anyone have experience or knowledge of a good watchsmith in the north end? I've got a Laco autowind (ETA movement) that's running a little out of spec (slow) and could probably use a real good cleaning and regulation.

I figure you guys like guns, right? So it's probable that you also appreciate other mechanical tools and items, like a mechanical or autowind.

Any recommendations? Thx.

Do you want a well-regulated watch?

I think according to some folks that means you can only have 10 hours on it, because 12 hours is high capacity.

Also posting out of curiosity to see how many filthy horologists we have.

'Nesbits' in Seattle. http://www.nesbitswatchservice.com

They did a service one of my automatics, they are an authorized repair shop for several of the big names, and have very good reviews. They have been around a very long time.

There is also a guy in Auburn, little hole in the wall shop on E. Main St, but the guy is pretty good and very reasonably priced. I had dropped one of my dive watches on concrete and broke one of the shock mounts for the movement (It did it's job as it didn't damage the movement). If memory serves it was well under 100 bucks to repair. I can get the info if you really want it.

Appreciate all the suggestions guys. Gives me something to go on.

Have got the ones mentioned in the thread, plus an Arc Watch Works (locations in Northgate and Bellevue). I'll check them out by phone or in-person, if possible. Start this weekend and see where this takes me and advise back with good and/or bad experiences.

And thanks Old Jim for the sage advice. "With age, comes wisdom" thumbsup
