Sad day for this family and community. They lost a great person and Officer. Quote: A Nebraska police officer was killed in a shootout a day before she was scheduled to go on maternity leave. http://insider.foxnews.com/2015/05/21/o ... nity-leave

I pray that you will keep me safe, so I will not walk alone. Help me to do my duty, please watch me on my rounds. Amongst those perilous places and slamming steel door sounds. God, keep my fellow Officers well and free from harm. Let them know I'll be there too, whenever there's alarm. Above all when I walk my beat, no matter where I roam. Let me go back whence I came, to family and homeAuthor unknown.

It's terrible. Saw it on the news last night. There are no words that can describe how fucked up the whole situation is.

As tragic as it is, the headline makes it sound like the child was lost. At least her child will know she was a hero.
It is not easy to be a parent, let a lone a single dad. My prayers go to her surviving family.
