The real story here is that, according to the article, the phone was still operational enough post-GSW for the victim to use it to call police. Guess they really did fix that "you're holding it wrong" antenna problem, huh?

So, if you can't afford real plates for your IBA vest, just buy up a shitload of old I phones, and duct tape them together triple thickness into plate sized waffles for front, rear, and side armor.
