Well since this has been bumped, we just swapped out our sleep number bed for a Purple. Been a couple months now and we really like it!

Not bad at all. In fact it's pretty cool. And it's a lot cooler than the memory foam mattress we had before the sleep number. And slightly cooler than the sleep number.

I have two pretty minor gripes about Purple:

1) the frame makes some noises. Clunks and creaks. Not all the parts were completely flat when we took it out of the box which is probably why. I do like how high it is, though. Because there's no box spring you can easily store stuff underneath.

2) the shipping was a little off kilter. The mattress cover arrived first, then the bed, then the frame. It took about a week after the first item to arrive before we had all the pieces. The pillow was missing the extra air bladder to make it thicker too. And the sheets wound up arriving several weeks after all that. Apparently they were on a back order but they didn't tell us until my wife called to ask where they were.

All in all, the wife and I are happy with it.

I bought a sleep number several years back and it has been worth every penny I paid for it. My big ass is 6'5 320 and have back issues and with standard mattress only lasting a couple years it just seemed like the best route for me. Now I'm in no way rich but felt like it's a investment in my health. I have been able to cut out a ton of chiropractic visits and felt much better with it. I didn't spend a thousand extra dollars for a thick topper on the bed. Instead I opted to add a 2 inch thick memory foam one from costco for 100.00 memory foam mattresses I have owned broke down way to fast for me. Buy if you buy one from costco you can return it if it goes to shit. I did without any hassel.

I totally agree with this. How many hours a day do you spend on a mattress? How many years do they last? How much does back problems cost? Even spending 10k on a mattress is probably a good idea.

I bought a motor-driven height adjustable desk so I could work standing up. Worth every penny I spent. I bought a nice desk chair. Worth every penny. Between the chair, desk, and mattress, that's like 90% of my time.

I bought a Tuft & Needle. I like that a $600 mattress is $600. I compared it to a $3200 mattress that was $600. Talk about marketing bullshit. I marked my $100 Pinto up to $200k so I could mark it back down to $100.

I haven't found the right bed yet, you should try craigslist. lots of single women, and if you don't like the bed you don't have to buy

Hey! I liked my Pinto. Don't you go knocking them.

Happy you have a better bed, however.
