My grandmother is 91. I found out today that her favorite alcoholic drink is Guinness Stout. I am shocked, and pleased. (Yes, Drew . . . as of last year, she is single.) I'm going to visit her in about a week, so now I know what I can bring . . . LOL. I hope I can keep up!

My Grandmother was a teetotaler. The mere sight of someone consuming an alcoholic beverage made her lips "prune up" fiercely.
My Aunt (her sister) told us one Sunday over dinner that out of respect for her sister's avoidance of alcohol, she didn't use rum in the sauce she made for the Bread Pudding, but instead used Rum Flavoring but the same amount as the recipe called for of the "real stuff".
"Granny" did say that the sauce tasted particularly good. My Dad almost fell off his chair laughing. At that time in history, Rum Flavoring was close to 60% alcohol. Almost twice as much as in just plain Rum. Those were the days when liquor sales were prohibited on Sunday in this State. Sunday sales of Flavor Extracts and After Shave were just about as much as the rest of the week in total.
