correct next question Where did the M1917 Pattern Enfield Rifle get the nickname “Eddystone”? A. The General who promoted the idea of using the Enfield design was named Gen. Patrick Eddystone B. Eddystone was US Army slang for Enfield C. The guns were made in Eddystone, PA D. The machine used to forge the parts was built by Eddystone Tool & Die Co.

The guns made at the Baldwin loco works in Eddystone, PA are called Eddystones.
