How do they make money on allowing people to turn right on a red light?

While this happens a lot, last night on International by the airport I had two different vehicles basically run the light to turn in front of me. One was right after the light changed. The second I was doing about 35 when they pulled in front of me then had to slam brakes because the car in front of them stopped to turn (basically occupying my reasonable stopping distance).

Good lesson for my son who will be driving soon. I explained to him about insurance scams and at which point, he as the innocent driver would be at fault.

What about turning left on red? Which you can do if you are in a left turn only and you are merging onto a one way or on ramp. Just like right on red, you need to come to a complete stop first, and if you run the light you get a failure to yield ticket.

I turn left on reds all the time. I dont care if its one way or not.

My life is too short to waste a portion of it sitting at red lights waiting for a robots permission to let me pass.
