I saw her put three (four?) packets of powder in, followed by some of the wrappers for wadding, but I didn't see her introduce a projectile. Did I miss something?

Go to around 1:23 and give a listen... Sounds like the gun is being used as a shotgun, with small projectiles. The last bit of paper or wadding seems to be being used to hold them all in there. When she drops the rod down the barrel it is hitting something soft, non-metallic. That's the way I'm hearing it. Disappointing is that the gun shown in the initial thumbnail isn't shown in the video (or I missed it) While I would LOVE to have George Washington's pistol  or Simon Bolivars...
