When I worked at the division level in the Army, the people there were highly competent, and would undergo continual checks to ensure our intellectual products, whether they be staff estimates, plans, orders, whatever met quality standards to ensure high performance was being met. This is from a collection of people that had not worked together more than a few years that were thrown together, just to go their separate ways in a short time. I expect a higher quality from echelons above me to include the White House that would leverage the best minds in the country. Kamala is just repeating words from a teleprompter and no matter how dumb she would come across, the Democratic focus groups or someone would let her know to up her game. These speechwriters are the best in the business and they've been doing it for a while. There are obvious gaffes that could have been avoided by a staff that wanted a positive message. Instead of a Presidential debate level performance and writing, they went with kindergarten writing, why? Do you think the Clintons or Obamas would ever read a speech like that? It seems in addition to hiring embarrassing people, for whatever reason, a distinct level of incompetence is being portrayed.

Do you think the POTUS or VP select what they wear every day, make a schedule, cook up a meal or determine travel arrangements? These are people who are wholly dependent on their staff to make conscious decisions on how they appear to people and to be most effective.
