Bottom line- only works reliably for a single shot or double barrel, and preferable for a recoil sensitive person. Very small market.

Self defense in close quarters = more shots from the same weapon.

I was waiting for him to talk about how the short shells fed in a pump action shotgun, which is one of my personal favorites for HD.
No bueno.
So for reliable function we're limited to single shot and double barrel shotguns if using the short shells.

I like the Win 1300, but don't know why you think these short Aguila 12ga shells will work reliably in them. Do you have more information? Did I miss something in the review?

Didn't watch the video yet, but 1 3/4" shells work just fine in the 1300

I'll be darned. That's good to know.
I'd never seen or heard of 1-3/4" 12GA shells before this video. Thanks for the info.

That's what will make the difference in some shotguns and some, ah, firearms.

Proof that even a broken clock is right twice a day:

"The reason people are stupider, to your point, is because they dont read anymore; and the reason they dont read anymore is because there is no time, because they are doing this [social media] bullshit." - Bill Maher, watch him say it in the video at 3:25 to 3:35

I can't believe Bill Maher said something I actually agree with.

If you ever wondered how it's possible to ski steep slopes in ski resorts without getting buried in an avalanche, the reason is explosives, lots of explosives:

Hand Tossing (Whitefish Ski Resort, BC)

Helicopter Delivery (Steven's Pass, WA)

Direct Fire Artillery (Snowbird Ski Resort, UT)

Some places use old recoil-less rifles too!

Yes most definitely they are used in both ski resort and highway safety avalanche control work. At Mammoth Mountain where I used to teach skiing the patrol used a combination of hand tossing along with two 105mm howitzers to cover the upper mountain with direct fire from firing stations on the mid-mountain ridges. Used to wake up many mornings in the winter to the sound of whump-whump-whump

Here's some recoilless videos. First from Snowbird resort near SLC, UT:

Second one from highway control work in Alaska:

Our patrol there at Mammoth organized a Spring avalanche safety class for skier's doing resort sidecountry or backcountry skiing. They bombed a couple slopes beforehand then buried beacons in the debris outflow. Then we'd get to run the beacon search to find the 'victim' and they would evaluate our search technique and time required. Modern avy beacons are really cool technology also using Digital Signal Processors to create far more efficient search patterns than their older, analog predecessors.

Used to do a lot of backcountry skiing in California and Washington so have take a couple avalanche safety classes. The patrol at Crystal Mt in WA is really on top of their game. They organize some really great avalanche safety training courses and Crystal also has an awesome avy beacon practice area where you can practice coarse & fine searching followed by probing. A flashing light goes off when you strike the buried transceiver box under the snow with your avy probe along with elapsed time. Used to be right at the Campbell Lodge. Great resource.

Only the Police and Military need guns though and the only purpose for weapons of war is to kill as many people as possible as quickly as possible....amirite?

^^^ Yes agreed only the military and police could possibly need explosives (sarcasm) :ROFLMAO: Screw the ski industry, highway transportation departments, mining industry, building demolition, and so forth. None of those are necessary to our society in the slightest.

Seriously though I never cease to be stunned by the incredible level of ignorance of either the lawmakers putatively in charge of developing gun related legislation or the citizens proposing new restrictions. All display an amazing lack of knowledge of existing laws, firearms technology, and indeed just basic human nature.
