Antifa is very real. Just not in the way I think most people think it is. It is more of an ideology that groups form around, and has been around in the USA and other countries for awhile. A fitting analogy I have heard is likening it to feminism (from an organizational perspective). There isn't one centralized "Feminism" group with a recognized leader and leadership hierarchy. But several prominent Feminist groups certainly exist based on this ideology. This is what is meant by the FBI when they say it is an "idea" or "movement" and why they cant just declare Antifa a terrorist group. But they can certainly go after anyone that breaks the law in the name of Antifa.
