Grrrr... slow down! (Accident video)

Tue Apr 18, 2017 4:56 pm

Well, there's an idiot in a white Sprinter van driving around like a fucking asshole..

This guy's doing probably 60 plus in a 40.

I slow down for the yellow light, the light was red for quite a while, and the guy comes screaming up the right turn only lane, and proceeds to run the red light, in the wrong lane, striking a lady that was making a right turn with the green light that she had.

so, the patient is a woman in her mid-sixties, who now has a broken wrist, and possibly fractured femur, who had to be pulled out on a backboard..... you can see you right after the accident, she tried to get out but couldn't, because your stupid fucking ass couldn't wait 30 seconds. You had to go speeding around in a 5 ton vehicle blowing red lights because you can't wait 30 fucking seconds. So now you have an innocent person injured because you think you're more important than anybody else. Fucking piece of shit.

Looked like the guys were switching seats at the end? Couldn't tell. Did they try and fake who the real driver was?

Good catch.

Wasn't focused on that...more concerned about the accident victim.

I thought the guy was gonna run at first..tbh..

That's like 300 yards from my house.
That intersection is apeshit during morning / evening rush hour. Nobody wants to pay attention to the turn lane lights.
See people turning on red all the time.
Using that lane to go through the intersection is a new one, though.

I see Russian videos like this all of the time, but this is a first for the States. Good catch, driver of the white van is clearly at fault.

Off topic, but, man, you like old music.

Video confirms some things.

While the white van is clearly in the wrong, the driver of the car needs to have some retraining on how to cross a street. Look both ways before you go... would have saved her an accident and some broken bones. She came close (a split second) from T-bone of death. Had she looked first, we'd just have a red light runner white van.

Camera is a Note 3 running autoguard Pro. When I get new phones, I try to find uses for the old ones. In this case, I sent it up on Wi-Fi, using my new phone as the hotspot. That way I can use the dash mounted Note 3 for Pandora, GPS, dash cam, Etc the cameras sensors and quality in today's phones will far exceed just about anything that you can get on Amazon. So, if you're looking for an amazing dash cam, I would search Craigslist or Facebook or whatever for Samsung Galaxy S5, LGG2, etcetera which are pretty cheap these days, but still have very high quality camera sensor

As far as my music tastes, I have Pandora on shuffle. Right now I'm listening to TLC. Open Arms by Journey just kicked in. I listen to just about everything, anything from dr. Dre, to ZZ Top Bryan Adams, Luther Vandross, etcetera etcetera. Other than bluegrass and heavy rap I listen to just about everything.

In my experience, most common injuries after an accident were wrist injuries, facial Burns, and broken collarbone. There was also a high incidence of foot injuries. But those are usually fairly minor I'm sure there's a firefighter EMT on this board that has more recent experience that will be able to see whether that's still true.

That being said, it was a fairly low speed Collision, but as you grow older, your bones deteriorate, you lose muscle mass, Etc . this lady looked pretty frail. Having witnessed it, I wasn't surprised about the wrist.

I've seen some interesting stuff. Collsions where you expect to be calling it DOA and the driver walks away with minor injuries... and vice versa...what I'd call a fender bender resulting in a death.... older guy hit his head on a seat belt bolt/holder on the B pillar.... He was on blood thinners.. skull fracture didn't help....ended up dying at the hospital... minor scuffs on each vehicle..

So, you never can tell.
