Edit: Effin prosecutor didn't advise me that the date was changed. Case was still on docket.. I show up because I was subpoenaed...... And wait for an hour... For nothing..

Waste of gas and time... Thanks..

I feel your pain.
I got summoned as a witness in an accident case a few years ago.
I showed up, waited for 3 hours, then was told the case had been plea-bargained and my testimony wasn't needed.

I talked to the prosecutor. It was rescheduled on Tues. That is not enough time per law... But I i dunno how that effects witnesses vs. Defendants.

He is charged with failure to obey traffic signal and speed too fast for conditions.. Dunno why it wasn't more but.... And apparently he just got a ticket in January as well, but unsure what for...

Ya, they do that.
I was issued an infraction for following too close resulting in a collision.
Found out who the prosecutor was and showed up at his office half an hour before court started.
Presented my evidence that the trailer brakes were improperly adjusted in a newly purchased trailer.
(Presented it to him directly because some of it wouldn't have been admissable in court).

He said "Oh, you weren't following too close then, it was an equipment malfunction.
I'll just have it dismissed. You can wait in court or if you trust me I'll just file it."

I told him I'd wait, didn't want a FTA if he forgot to do it.

They made the witnesses wait until after court was over to tell them.

You would be surprised how little time the CLJ prosecutors spend looking over traffic infractions.
Half an hour before court he hadn't even looked at mine.

I called the prosecutor when I got the subpoena. She knew of the video but hadn't watched it yet. I emailed her a(nother) copy... She definitely sounded like she wanted to nail the guy after watching the video..

What a douche bag. Someone could have really gotten hurt.
