Took a chance on a free CL dog yesterday. Owners don't have the time or room/space. Gave him some money to cover some expenses.

Lost my dog Max 3 years ago, hard to believe how fast time goes. Been wanting another to keep my current dog company and grow our "family" a bit. Current dog is warming up to her. She's used to being the center of attention but is easy going and things seem to be pretty smooth.

This sweet girl is a 4 year old Plotter hound mix, and I'm told maybe some Rhodesian but I don't see it. About 75 pounds of sweet gentle power, intelligence, and speed. Had her now maybe 20 hours and she's been around my dog and many people and just has a sweet disposition. Has clearly had some good training and socialization. Crate trained, sit/shake, potty trained, very friendly, leash trained. Took her for a long walk, she didn't pull once.

Slept in her crate last night, not a single issue thus far. Not even a hint of an issue. Records are a bit lacking, but some basic records show she's had at least two vet visits and rabbies is current, so she's had at least some basic care.

I remember seeing that ad on CL thinking 'what a pretty dog' --- although I cringed a bit when they said Rhodesian.... Good job on re-homeing a pooch in need - good hopes for many good years for you and the dog!

I don't know about that, from the video he posted, they might be related.

Looks like a winning decision.

Dogs can complete a family, especially with kids.

On day 3, dogs are going great. New dog is such an absolute gem of a dog. Sweet, gentle, good watch dog, has barked only at strangers outside and shuts up when I give the command. Very aggressive bark.

Playful, energetic, but settles down and lays down when told.

Pretty much what you'd want in a dog! Score.
