fellow in a black pick-em-up truck took exception to his intentions and filled him full of lead, then drove over him for good measure!

Reminds me of when I was just out of high school and going on my first pheasant hunting trip with my buddy and his dad. We were driving between fields and there was a dead skunk in the middle of the road. My buddy's dad swerved to hit it and it stunk up the car so bad.

Then we on our way back he swerved to hit it again.

Then the next day, he took us out of our way to hit it yet again.

Man...smelling skunk is one thing. But being trapped in a car with that stench is a whole new level.

I have a dead possum story.
Learned a lesson about anaerobic bacteria and why not to put dead things in airtight bags.

Reminds me of the joke "why did the chicken cross the road? To show the possum it could be done. "

When I was in High School about once a month I'd walk to the school bus and the early morning air was full of "eau de Dead Skunk". They'd get out on the road to the Bangor Naval Ammunition Station North of Silverdale and those who drove the road at night at shift change loves to hit them if they could.

Every once in a while a kid would come to school with the "essence" on him after having to move a dead one after shooting it near a chicken house. Stuck around for days.

Shooter caught, and it was a racoon.

What the hell is going on? The guy that was shot did not even hurt or kill the racoon. I will make sure I am packing when I am in that neck of the woods.
I can only imagine what folks out there would do for a box of Girl Scout cookies.
