Anyone following this? 2 days of liberals, anti-capitalists, Antifa, whatever protests. I'm so confused.

100+ cops injured, probably millions of dollars in property (public and private) damage, lawlessness, burning cars and trash, broken glass everywhere, chaos, pollution...
I"m 100% for peaceful protests, objections, speeches, etc. But this is simply too much. I'm really tired of it, here and abroad. I would support lethal responses. I don't understand why the government doesn't just open fire on these lawless lunatics after a time. Just open up with a few belted crew served weapons to protect the community from this. Mow these idiots down. It's out of hand and gets worse every year. It's unacceptable, and dangerous. Imagine if you live in the middle of this, own a business, or get caught in the middle of these things??!!
Your right to protest ends when you're routinely destroying the city, injured platoons of police, threatening others with violence, and ruining cities causing untold BILLIONS of dollars in damages.
As much as I enjoy watching these asshats get the snot beat out of them, sprayed with water hoses, and tear gassed, I think it's time for governments to get more aggressive. I think they should be given warnings to leave and go home or will be fired upon. Give them ample time to leave. Then open fire. I have exactly ZERO problems with that course of action.

I'm all in for aggressive police handling of violent protesters and riotous mobs. That being said, there's a plethora of non-lethal options: water cannons, gas, skirmish lines, pepper spray, arrest, followed by criminal prosecution. There's no need to make martyrs out of these bastards. Folks like Antifa do a pretty good job coming across as lawless bad guys, no need to steal that limelight from them with over-zealous police response.
Now if they bring deadly weapons to a violent protest that degenerates into a riot, the police have every justification to defend themselves with deadly force.

For the naysayers, here's a scenario.
Your sitting at home one night having dinner with your family, and with no warning, a group a mile deep appears to have taken over your neighborhood. Police have not yet arrived. Rioting group is smashing, looting, burning structures and cars. You have no time or ability to evacuate, and it wouldn't be practical because you would likely lose everything in the wave of disaster coming at you. You may be covered by insurance, you may not (riots, terrorism, war exemptions) but surely some of your possessions are irreplaceable. And of course, people are at risk. Not just you and your family, but others who cannot escape.
Do you feel you'd be justified in standing guard and using lethal force if they invade your home/property? Because that is effectively the analysis here. The safety of those who cannot escape, the safety of those forced to defend (police), and non-recoupable property damages.
And there's of course overall costs. These riots cost taxpayers millions of dollars. Why are tax payers being forced to absorb these? Secondary to using lethal force, every single rioter should be arrested and slapped with a massive crippling fine of like $100,000 or whatever, non discharged in bankruptcy.

Can someone explain to me what these global lunatics want?
Capitalism has done more historically than perhaps anything (save a few inventions in medicine and combustion engine) to improve living standards and lift people out of poverty and create wealth.
When you contrast it to socialism or Marxism or similar, people are universally impoverished, poor, malnourished, isolated, etc.
So, I really just do not get it. It seems that they believe that there would be more equality or no ruling class or elite class in a socialist, or kumbayaa, or Marxist, type system. But history proves them wrong. In fact, in such non-capitalist societies, the elite status is far more oppressive and brutal.
And these lunatics have resorted to violence all over. Do they really think that with their "percieved" systems in place that their rulers would be non-violent?
I am an educated and well-traveled man, but I just cannot wrap my brain around these absolute mouth breathers who want anarchy and violence leading to what exactly? A nonsense peace Eutopia that has never and will never exist? Their very actions demonstrate that there is always going to be chaos and conflict.
Most of them traveled there, bought clothing, cameras, and equipment and food produced and delivered by the free market and free trade. They have comfortable life styles and unbelievable surpluses (historically speaking) made possible only by the free market/trade. Yet they are protesting it....
