Do blacks not wear cotton fabrics because it reminds them of picking cotton ? Do blacks never go on boats because it reminds them of slave ships ? Do blacks not tie their shoes because it reminds them of knots and lynchings ?
Is there some kind of contest between San Francisco, Portland and Seattle to see which will be moron capital of the country ?

This area was at the edge of "Chinatown" and it really pissed off all the Asian merchants. Between the hookers keeping customers from coming to that part of town, the used rubbers in doorways, etc, the merchants decided that it would be a great idea to use the evening hours to wash down the sidewalks. As soon as the women would show up out would come the hoses. Being very meticulous, it often took hours to wash down the streets and if the women were stubborn and kept coming back, they and their "johns" might washed down too.
I was driving an ambulance in that part of town about that time and saw the crowd on the street Friday and Saturday nights. Went in the Army shortly after that and when I got home I went back to the same ambulance company. Was amazed at how deserted Jackson Street was after the few years I was gone.
Maybe Seattle needs to bring back the Street Sweeping Water Trucks. Aim the nozzles high enough to clean the sidewalks and make regular passes all night long. Remember, it's not racist if you treat everyone equal. If you hose down anyone who's camping or crapping on the sidewalk I'd call that "Equal Rights".

That's good to know. Do you know if Tacoma has the same?
