Nick Chastellaine, whose girlfriend was the one who took the bag, told CBC she intended to turn it over to police.

Chastellaine wasn't in the truck, but his girlfriend, cousin and friend were three of the four occupants. He said he spoke to them afterward, and they told him they opened the bag to see if there was anything inside to identify the owner.

Uh huh. Suuuuuure you did. :wink05:

Assholes. Justice has been served.

I love how they are trying to play the victim card. I could understand if they grabbed the bag and brought it in the 711 to give to the cashier so it could be secured, nope they drove off with it. They deserved it

Mr. McWhiteypants hits the nail on the head.

Very little sympathy here... maybe none at all.
If it was on a car in a parking lot wouldn't you go inside to find the person who left it on their car?

Seems to me like someone decided to play a game of "roast the thief."

How do you end up carrying a bag with a bomb you didn't know was in there?
Sir, did you pack your own bag?
And why did he leave it outside?

This whole story smells really fishy.

"The person who brought the bag to the 7–Eleven was also not an intended victim and might not have known what was inside"

WTF you guys think this is justice? It sounds to me like a terrorist attack/bombing gone sideways. Instead of it blowing up the 7-11 it blew up on some thieves. How is this justice?

When our soldiers pick up an IED and it explodes, is that justice? Couldn't they be considered thieves for stealing the package containing the bomb?

Would calling it Karma be a better description?

To me it seems like there has been a lot of theft, and someone set them up with a little gift. It's easy enough to look online to build a real bomb, if someone wanted to blow a store up.

The comparison to a soldier picking up an IED is plain asinine. You would think the difference would be obvious. And to your point, YES, I am fine with calling it justice. Your terrorist attack theory is at this point just that. It is no different than tweaker thieves stealing wiring from high voltage equipment or services. You get fried, tough shit. You shouldn't be a thief. :thumbsup2:

So you guys are okay with people building bombs and leaving them around town. So you are terrorists. Okay cool. Now we know.

Are we having a bit of a reading problem this morning? I didn't see anyone say that. The commentary has pretty much been about the fact the thieves got what was coming to them. I might suggest a little less Starbuck's, perhaps try the decaf. You might want to curb calling a batch of people terrorists.

The source of the bomb is a separate issue that has yet to be explained.

The terrorists that built the pressure cooker bombs left them on the ground at the Boston Marathon. Obviously that's bad. But if somebody had picked up the package and tried to steal them, then when they went off, you guys would think they got what was coming to them?

You state the moral of the story is "don't be a thief". I state the moral of the story is "don't leave bombs laying around town".

You blame the thief, not the bomb maker.

I see:
Don't be a thief
justice has been served
they deserved it
very little sympathy
karma

Based upon your comments, you guys seem to support and embrace blowing people up. Advocating violence. Again. WTF.
